A two-piece Chuba (or Chupa/Bakhu) is a modern, stylish evolution of the traditional Himalayan gown. While the classic version is a single, voluminous wrap, the two-piece set is designed for convenience, versatility, and a more tailored silhouette without losing the cultural essence.
The Wrap Skirt (Lower Half)
Design: A structured, ankle-length wrap skirt that mimics the bottom half of a traditional Chuba.
Functionality: It often features a fixed waistband with buttons, hooks, or adjustable ties. This eliminates the "bulk" at the waist that comes from folding a traditional full-length gown.
Fit: It maintains the classic "A-line" or straight fall, often with a deep pleat or overlap to allow for movement.
The Cropped Jacket or Top (Upper Half)
Design: A matching short jacket or a wrap-style top that sits just at or slightly below the waistline.
Style: These usually feature the signature asymmetrical "Chuba" collar (crossing over the chest) and may have long, folded-back cuffs or be sleeveless to show off a traditional wonju (blouse) underneath.
